WBBA UNIVERSAL DANCE BATTLES
The Universal Dance Battles at the WBBA celebrates creativity, athleticism, and individuality. Performances are judged on creativity and originality, musicality and interpretation, technical skill, and overall impact. Dancers should captivate the audience with unique choreography, dynamic use of the stage, and emotional expression while demonstrating precision, control, and versatility. The goal is to deliver a performance that is memorable, engaging, and reflective of personal style. We provide six distinct divisions for competition, each consisting of two rounds:
- Round 1: Contestants perform a choreographed dance routine to 90 seconds of music of their choice.
- Round 2: The top five contestants compete in a live freestyle round to determine final rankings.

DANCE BATTLE DIVISIONS
- STREET DANCE: Includes hip-hop, breaking, popping, locking, krumping, and house.
- CONTEMPORARY & MODERN: Emphasizes fluid, emotive movements features energetic movements and story telling.
- LATIN DANCE: Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cha-Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, and Cumbia, known for their rich cultural origins, rhythmic footwork, and expressive movements
- COMMERCIAL & JAZZ: Inspired by music video or live performance choreography.
- FUSION DANCE: a dance style that combines elements from multiple dance genres to create a unique and cohesive performance.
- OPEN TEAM: A single 3-minute choreographed team performance. This division welcomes all genres featured in the Universal Dance Battle.
